[ She's not happy, no. Not for herself, at least. For Noctis and Ignis she is, of course. But selfishly, she can't be happy completely and she's sure in time those upset feelings will go away and fade. Time heals all wounds, at least that's what she's been told.]
I am happy if you are happy. [ She'll repeat that until the end of time. Her happiness has never mattered, not in her mind. But right now she feels ill despite already knowing that this was coming. She's going to have to put on her best poker face; and she thinks, after years in captivity, she can do that one more time. ]
I am fine... though I do need to run in a moment, dear Noctis. I've promised a friend that I would meet him soon.
[ That's a lie. But she doesn't want to be here right now, and as far as she's concerned they've had this talk and it's over now. ]
But those emotions were so raw, that wound so fresh that he didn't push it. Didn't dig. Didn't grind the glass and salt in any deeper than it already was. Maybe he should. But all it would do is make things worse. Would make the tension that was building between them boil over and explode.]
Luna... [But he doesn't even know what he was going to say. What could he even say? That he was sorry? For what? Breaking her heart? Not being as faithful to her as she had been to him?
For hurting her even though he hadn't meant to?] Please be safe, okay? If anything happened to you I...
[ That's right, she's not. But the one person that she can trust enough to go crying to isn't here, and even if he were, Ravus would only be angry at Noctis and that's not something that she wants, either.
So for now, she's on her own to deal with her emotions. And she can't come home until she's cried it all out on her own, let herself be sad and upset and momentarily selfish before she can come home and face him again. ]
Nothing will happen to me. You need not worry about me... I am a big girl, I can take care of myself. I don't know when I will be home, so please don't wait up for me. Thank you for being so honest.
[ She already feels like she's been torn apart from the inside out, and she doesn't think anything else could possibly hurt as much as this does. Not any spirit, nor Ardyn's blade could cut quite this deep. ]
[She shouldn't be thanking him. Not for his honesty and not for anything else. Those words hurt, cut deep and he feels an ache be knows he had no right to. He did this. This is his fault. And it's a guilt that rest sqaurely upon his shoulders.
But he has someone to go to for comfort. And she doesn't. So he buries it. Holds it inside and doesn't let it show.]
[ She doesn't trust herself to turn around and face him, because she's afraid that her aforementioned poker face isn't going to hold up if she actually sees him. So she merely nods, instead forcing her tone to remain light but neutral. ]
Yes, you as well. See you then.
[ Whenever 'then' ends up being, because right now she knows it's going to be a few days at most. She lifts a hand to wave, the only thing she can be bothered to do at this point, before she moves out of her bedroom and out of the house in general, headed out towards the thick forest so that she can do what she has to do in order to make herself seem a little bit normal when she decides to come home. ]
[ It's not kind nor merciful, she doesn't need to hear what you two are doing, thanks, ugh. ]
Why am I not surprised? This is very early for you to be up. [ She laughs and takes his hand, walking alongside him. ] And to think, you forced yourself awake all for my sake. I am the luckiest woman in this world.
[It's a short trip, through the downstairs of the cabin and up the stairs to where their rooms are located. Until he leads her into the one he shares with Prompto.
It's pretty easy to tell which bed is his by the sheer number of blankets and pillows, but when he drags her down into it it's incredibly comfortable.]
[ Because she wouldn't want to be anywhere else. She grins as they go tumbling into bed together, and she wastes no time in curling up against the poor man as close as she can possibly get. ]
[He wraps himself around her, only shifting once to reach down and grab the blankets, tugging them up and over. Somehow, he makes an incredible cuddle partner. All warm and soft, holding her tight and close.]
Birthday naps are the best. [Until Ignis decides to come wake them up.]
[ Luna is very comfortable right now, and he is in fact the best cuddle partner. She hasn't really had many to go by, but this is wonderful and she's just going to... use him as a pillow. A big, warm, living pillow.
She drops her head down, burying her face into the hollow of his throat. ]
Yes, they are. This was a wonderful idea. [ Her voice is muffled and she already sounds half asleep. ]
[Honestly, he has had that many either. Cuddling down into his father when he had been a child didn't count. But he had used Ignis and Prompto for his own selfish cuddling needs pretty often while they'd been on the road. He'd learned a thing or two.]
All of my idea's are wonderful. [But it comes out soft and jumbled, considering he yawns directly in the middle of it.]
[ Ferry fiasco aside, settling in around here hasn't been all that difficult for Nyx. It's a little disheartening to see who else is here with him from Eos but there's no point in dwelling on that when in the company of others, let alone making anyone feel bad for being here in the first place. Just really sucks that it's not just him, the others not really deserving this sort of (after)life.
With the importance of these lanterns around here and the flame flickering within them, Nyx has taken it upon himself to find a way to fasten the thing to his back. Doesn't leave much in the way of light for the front, no. But when he needs to get somewhere quick via warping thanks to Noctis? It'll come in handy when he can just sling the thing onto his back and not have to worry about holding it. Leaves his back exposed, sure. But when has he ever had it easy, right? Just means he's gotta be damn quick and good.
He's about to make his way outside, lantern slung over his shoulder and his one kukri held in his hand, when he stops at catching sight of something... someone? Until he happens to see just who it is. ]
[ Luna, for the most part, has kept to herself. Not completely, of course; she's wanted to help Nyx settle in as much as she could and she's always present for meals and for any sort of household activity that's going on. But she's taken to up and leaving on her own for hours and hours at a time without really letting anyone know, because why should she? It's not as if it matters.
As a matter of fact, she's about to do just that. She's slipped her heels on and she's got a basket hung from her left arm and she is most certainly headed for the door when she both catches sight of Nyx and hears him ask her a question. ]
Good afternoon, Nyx. I am, yes... are you?
[ Because she sees you. She knows you're about to take off, too. ]
[ Oh. Oh, he's headed out to do the same thing as she. This is interesting. ]
Then it seems that you and I have the same idea. You do realize what this means, don't you?
[ What it means, is that she is going to let her lantern hang off of her wrist next to the basket on her arm so that she can link her free arm through one of his own, smiling. This isn't anything he asked for, no. But it's what he's getting. ]
I suppose that means we'll be headed out together, then.
[ There's only silence as he looks to her arm hooked through his and... he knows better. He does. When has she ever really listened to him? And yet he still feels the need to say something, even if it will be useless. ]
We? Getting a bit ahead of yourself there, aren't you?
[ Yet he doesn't pull away, doesn't try and steer her back to her (their??) room or anything. ]
This is where I tell you that this isn't Insomnia and despite his royal highness granting me his magic here, it's still not a good idea to go out into whatever's out there.
